François Billetdoux

François Billetdoux (7 September 1927 in Paris – 26 November 1991 in Paris) was a French dramatic author and novelist. His works describe the world with a fierce humor of a somewhat burlesque style, which sometimes turns into black humor.[1] He was President of the Société des gens de lettres in 1972.[2]

His daughter, Raphaële Billetdoux, also a writer, has written novels including: 'Jeune Fille en silence' (1971), 'L'Ouverture des bras de l'homme' (1973, prix Louise de Vilmorin; 1974, prix Contrepoint), and 'Prends garde a la douceur des choses' (1976).
